The arms around her waist are welcome, her hand going over his as she laced their fingers together. She was very happy in those arms and wanted to stay in them, but considering how the conversation with her dad was going, it wasn't plausible.
He was due home soon.
"Did they actually fix the car this time? Because the last mechanic wasn't trustworthy and I'm really hoping I can take Fiona at her word that the guys we took my car to this time actually know what they're doing."
She turns slightly to smile at Mike. He's within kissing distance, but her dad is on the phone, so that'd be a no go at this station. Still, he was gorgeous and he was hers and she was probably falling for him, so she could smile at him just like this and be happy.
But then the look on her face shifts to one that says 'jesus on toast why' and she replies to his next comment with "Dad. No."
Dads. Jesus.
"We're going to Still Waters and then I'm showing him around town. We're good for breakfast. Thank you, though. We do need dish soap. And coffee. Just in general, though."
